Funghi fun season

The mushroom season has started in France - market stalls are overflowing with different edible varieties. In the forests around Paris, the favourite fungi are Cepes - or King Bollit in English - and enthusiastic foragers have been scouring the ground for them.
But in mushroom picking too little knowledge is a very dangerous thing. Few people realise that there are literally thousands of species of mushrooms and the risk of mistaken identification is high. So much so that French pharmacists offer a mushroom recognition service to make sure the average citizen does not poison himself.
