Luxemburgers consume the most alcohol in the EU per capita
According to 2006 statistics from the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) people in Luxembourg consume the most alcohol per year of any EU member state - 15.5 litres each.
Close behind are the French (14.2 litres), the Irish (also 14.2 litres, a lot more of it from beer), the Hungarians (12 litres) and the Czechs (11.8 litres).
