Carry on glamping...
Like the great outdoors, but dread the idea of roughing it under canvas? With the latest craze in the camping world - glamping - you can enjoy nature in comfort without having to put up a tent in a thunderstorm in the middle of the night or miss a meal because you've forgotten your can-opener.
Out with the soggy sleeping bag and leaking tent, and in with the luxury yurt or heated tipi. Luxury camping - or glamping - is becoming increasingly popular in the UK and now sites are springing up across the rest of the continent.
Each campsite has its own ethos - ranging from fairly basic with a few extras such as airbeds and eco-showers thrown in, to full-blown luxury with log burning stoves, DVD players and flat-screen TVs.
One such site is Billycan Camping, near the town of Arundel in the UK's South Downs. The owners provide well-equipped, spacious tents, a few creature comforts and all the facilities for self-catering.
They are, however, keen not to spoil their visitors too much and cross the line from being a campsite to just another hotel or B&B. There is no electricity and the campers have to cook their own breakfasts - albeit with all the ingredients already provided.
"We didn't want to take away the actual experience of camping and eating outdoors away from them," explains organiser Alexandra Thompson.
