Nik Martin reports from Bulgaria on the foreign currency shops that sold western luxury goods during the communist era.

Only highest ranking officials in the politburo could spend their foreign currency in these shops along with diplomats and the few workers allowed to work overseas. Over the years, most Bulgarians came to resent the Corecom stores.
