Romania: Sitting on a gold mine
The village of Roșia Montană has just 3,000 residents, but could be set to become the largest gold mine in Europe.
Preparations for the project go back at least 10 years, though the issue has divided local people into two opposing camps - those who support the project, and those who fear it will destroy the area's tourist potential and its ancient archaeological remains.
